PLEASANTON, Calif. -- Edmunds.com, a site consumers frequent to research vehicles, has named E-LOAN, an online consumer direct lender, its primary auto loan provider.

Jupiter Research´s 2003 Automotive Forecast Report showed that 57 percent of automotive consumers used the Internet to research their automotive purchase in 2002. The report projects that by 2008, 80 percent of car buyers will regularly use the Internet to research their auto purchase.

Edmunds.com was named "most useful Web site" by J.D. Power and Associates´ Autoshopper.com Study and "best car research on the Web" by Forbes.

The site features a Finance Center section where consumers can directly shop for loan rates through E-LOAN. Customers can apply for a loan by completing an online application, and will receive a decision in 15 minutes if applying during regular business hours. Once approved, E-LOAN issues a PowerCheck, which works like a personal check. Customers can take the check to a dealership to buy their vehicles.
