TORRANCE, Calif. -- Leasing has returned to prominence in dealerships across the country and its contribution to F&I profits will be discussed by leasing experts Buzz Doering and Jim Osterman at the second annual F&I Conference & Expo in November.

The session will be held Friday, Nov. 11 from 10:10 - 10:50 a.m. Doering's segment, "Identification, Motivation, Competition" will take the first half of the session and will be followed by Osterman's discussion of the required skills and training needed to lease vehicles successfully.

Doering, an automobile leasing consultant with Doering Leasing Co., will help conference attendees identify the opportunities leasing provides, as well as the motivation behind leasing and the competition it creates. He has conducted more than 100 workshops for GMAC and other manufacturers. Doering’s services have been sought by Cadillac, Chevrolet, Pontiac, Honda, Volkwagen, Lincoln-Mercury, Mercedes Benz, Ford, Oldsmobile, BMW, Acura, Audi, SAAB and Subaru.

In addition, he has held workshops and in-house consultations for thousands of dealerships, advertising associations, dealer organizations, captive finance companies and banks.

Jim Osterman, an industry consultant, spent much of his career at GMAC as an experienced F&I trainer. He will discuss the skills and training needed at a dealership to make leasing a smart business strategy.

Dealership personnel in attendance will be able to take new skills and a greater understanding of industry trends back to their businesses.

The F&I Conference & Expo will be held at the Mirage Hotel & Casino in Las Vegas Nov. 9-11, 2005. Last year’s attendance totaled more than 700, including dealers, general managers, F&I managers, exhibitors, lenders and other auto industry members.
