SAINT PAUL, Minn. — Two Minnesota Harley-Davidson Dealers are looking to bring the same payment assurance program offered by Hyundai to the powersports industry after signing an agreement with the same product provider, WALKAWAY USA.

St. Paul Harley-Davidson/Buell, St. Paul, Minn., and Wild Prairie Harley-Davidson/Buell, Eden Prairie, Minn., will provide the WALKAWAY Protection for Motorcycle Financing under the Pledge brand name.

“Because of these tentative economic times, we want to show the confidence we have in our customers by providing some much needed peace of mind with the Pledge,” said Tom Giannetti, CEO and co-owner of St. Paul Harley-Davidson/Buell and Wild Prairie Harley-Davidson/Buell. “And, we offer it to every customer for free with any motorcycle purchased and financed at either of our dealerships. By providing more and exceptional products and services, like the Pledge, it’s just one more way we set ourselves apart from our competition.”

The one-year complimentary Pledge package offered by WALKAWAY, a wholly-owned subsidiary of the Dallas-based EFG Companies, covers the motorcycle owner in the case of job loss or certain life-altering circumstances, allowing him or her to walk away from up to $7,500 in negative equity. It does this without negatively impacting the customer’s credit rating.

An enhanced level of the Pledge program allows motorcycle owners to extend their coverage for up to 84 months on a maximum loan of $50,000.

The Pledge is being included on every new and used Harley-Davidson or Buell motorcycle that is purchased and financed at either dealership.

“Life these days is tough and it’s only getting more and more complicated,” said Kurt Harder, COO of St. Paul Harley-Davidson/Buell and Wild Prairie Harley-Davidson/Buell. “With the Pledge and WALKAWAY, our customers no longer need to feel tentative about their motorcycle purchasing decisions and can feel confident in wanting to fulfill their dream. The Pledge will allow our customers to enjoy and experience life the way it should be, by riding free from worries.”
