The National Automobile Dealers Association is urging the automotive community to help dealership employees affected by the recent hurricanes.

Chairman Gary Gilchrist posted a letter to his fellow franchised auto dealers and new-car dealer association executives, encouraging them to donate to the NADA Foundation’s Emergency Relief Fund.

The fund is supported by dealers, NADA and industry partners to financially help dealer employees impacted by natural disasters.

“We need more donations,” Gilchrist said. “And we need them from across the country. Emergency Relief Funds are going exactly where they should, but we need to keep the fund healthy. And not just to support dealer employees who need our help today, but to be prepared to act quickly when the next disaster strikes.”

Gilchrist also highlighted instances of dealerships helping devastated communities directly, including Williams Chevrolet Honda Kia staff who drove supplies from Michigan to the Southern communities affected by Hurricane Helene.

“Nothing about this reaction surprises me," Gilchrist said. "Franchised dealerships will always step up to support each other, our employees and our neighbors.”
