CINCINNATI — Online car lease marketplace Wantalease.com reports the majority of brands have maintained lease prices from the prior month so far in April, but several models built by Ford and other manufacturers saw increases.

Ford offered generous discounts on many new lease deals entering March, only to increase their prices again in April. The Fusion experienced the factory’s highest increase (11.84%), bringing average monthly payments to $209. Analysts also found increases for the Ford Explorer (7.16%), Escape (5.95%), Expedition (5.37%) increase, and Taurus (3.19%).

While many manufacturers maintained their prices in the month of April, the Nissan Sentra continues to come in as the most affordable new lease deal at $129 per month. The Nissan Sentra has held this price for the past three months.

“We were not surprised to see such a large number of manufacturers maintain their prices for the month of April,” said Scot Hall, executive vice president of Wantalease.com. “We’re maybe expecting more aggressive price drops for the month of May, as dealers prepare for Memorial Day sales and early summer specials.”

The vehicle that experienced the largest increase in monthly payment was the Honda Accord, for which prices increased by 22.41% to $249 per month. The vehicle that experienced the largest drop in price for the month of April was the BMW X5 with a 15.30% decrease in price. The BMW X5 is priced at $739 per month.
