Scottsdale, Ariz. – Students of the Automotive Dealership Institute who speak Spanish now have the opportunity to improve their presentation and disclosure skills for non-English-speaking customers.

Bilingual students are given forms and documents in English and Spanish to prepare for the diverse customers they will encounter when working in a dealership.

“Bilingual F&I professionals are in high demand given the increase in Spanish-speaking car buyers in recent years,” said ADI professor Jack Ferry. “These customers should receive the same level of service and professionalism as English-speaking buyers and ADI is striving to bridge that gap by giving our students the most complete education possible.”

The foreign language forms and instruction are integrated into the regular F&I program at no additional cost to students. The inclusion of training geared to Spanish-speaking customers does not impact or reduce the length or quality of any of the regular F&I courses.

Bilingual students are required to complete the usual curriculum and pass all tests in English. However, if students choose to undertake this elective, they will graduate with honors.

“Currently, we have a waiting list of dealerships competing with each other to hire our bilingual graduates,” said Alan Algan, CEO/executive director of ADI. “We provide these students with CDs of their English and Spanish F&I presentations. Every dealership we have shown these to was extremely impressed.”

Ferry, who is a professor for the Automotive Finance Management Program, created and implemented the honors program at ADI. “To my knowledge, there are no other F&I schools offering anything similar,” Ferry said. “But there is a great need for professionals who can help Spanish-speaking car buyers and ADI has the resources to properly educate our students to meet this demand.”
