The Dealer Services Group of Automatic Data Processing, Inc. announced Apr. 23 the signing of a marketing alliance

agreement to expand its relationship with Cisco Systems, Inc. Under

the agreement, ADP says it will expand its networking programs to design,

install and support a range of Cisco supplied productivity and

security solutions designed for the needs of car and truck

dealers.

ADP says it is currently the largest supplier of Cisco products to

automobile retailers with over 5,000 networks implemented within the

North American automotive & heavy truck retail communities.

According to the companies, under terms of this agreement ADP and Cisco will jointly develop a

series of programs that include business development, application

service provider (ASP) offerings, professional services and

customer support initiatives. These solutions will expand

ADP's network solutions set by providing jointly developed

hosting facilities, remote network management services,

onsite network infrastructure and automotive specific OEM connectivity

solutions. The network infrastructure will include selections of the

following Cisco technologies: Firewall and VPN products, Access

Routers, Switches, Aironet Wireless LAN products, IP Telephony

professionals dedicated to integrating Cisco powered networks. With the combination of Cisco tools combined with

ADP's network support staff, ADP says it provides the most comprehensive

networking solution in the industry.

selected Cisco to be the primary provider of their network hardware

ADP also says it provides an unmatched level of service in support of

their customer's networks. In addition to the

24-hour call service centers located throughout Canada and the United

States, ADP works with Cisco to certify the automotive

technology solutions that work the first time in the retailer's

network. ADP says it provides a test and duplication mechanism in which

technical troubleshooting is accomplished without having to work on

the actual customer network.

"The world-class combination of ADP know-how and Cisco products is

unmatched in the automotive industry. Our combined breadth of

technical expertise offers the best possible solution. With our

ability to duplicate network systems, we can work on improvements and

problem solving without having to work on the customer system. This

means we can bring solutions without any inconvenience to the dealer,"

solutions.

"It is our goal to provide the best solutions to the marketplace

that involve products, service and support. With the agreement with
