TORRANCE, Calif. -- The AFIP Certification Program, recognized industry wide as an effective means to promote legal compliance and ethical conduct, will be offered at the F&I Conference & Expo 2005 at a significant savings for attendees.

The course fee will be underwritten by F&I Management & Technology magazine, which saves registered attendees $495. The course will be conducted by Dave Robertson, executive director of AFIP, and includes excerpts taken directly from federal laws, a complete outline of F&I-related state laws and the new Walsh Institute for Ethical Behavior ethics module.

AFIP-certified dealership personnel can improve their understanding of laws and ethics governing the F&I office by participating in the Senior Certification Course at the F&I Conference. This is the second tier of AFIP’s Continuing Education Initiative and focuses on updates of federal laws and more in-depth study of state laws and ethics.

In addition, the Senior Certification Course includes an applied ethics workbook, which will assist dealership personnel in establishing their own personal codes of ethical conduct based on their own values.

Those participating in the Certification program are required to contact AFIP directly prior to Oct. 1 to obtain key study materials with the heavily discounted payment of $175 for each course. Contact AFIP at AFIP@aol.com or (817) 428-2434.

The F&I Conference & Expo will be held at the Mirage Hotel in Las Vegas Nov. 9-11. Certification sessions will take place on Wed., Nov. 9.

  • Basic AFIP Certification Course: 9 a.m.-12 p.m.

  • Advanced AFIP Certification Course: 2 p.m.-4:30 p.m.
