The American International Automobile Dealers Association (AIADA) has endorsed Carfax as the exclusive provider of vehicle history information on used cars and trucks to the association's 10,000 members.

"We are delighted to have formed this partnership," said Walter E. Huizenga, president of AIADA. "Carfax has been around since 1986 and has built a solid reputation as the leading provider of vehicle history information. As the used car market has grown in popularity over the years, Carfax Vehicle History Reports are yet another way automobile dealers can continue to provide quality service to their customers."

Carfax Vehicle History Reports reveal background information and unearth hidden problems in a car's past that may affect its resale value and safety. Some of the problems uncovered include odometer rollbacks, flood damage, lemon histories, junk titles and lien activity.

The Carfax database contains more than 1.4 billion unique records compiled from hundreds of unique sources including motor vehicle departments in the United States and Canada, emissions inspection stations, auto auctions, fire and police departments.

AIADA carefully researches products and services in terms of quality and value before considering them for endorsement, according to Huizenga. Following an intensive review period all endorsements are voted on by the association's board of directors, which consists of 46 elected dealer representatives. The board voted unanimously to make Carfax the newest, in the prestigious list of 11 AIADA Affinity partners.

"AIADA is one of the most well-respected associations in the industry. We are honored to have been selected as their vehicle history service provider and feel the partnership will give member dealers access to valuable information on the used vehicle market that will help them service their customers," said Dick Raines, president of Carfax.
