AP Poll: Two-Thirds of Americans Can’t Afford $1,000 Emergency
Conducted by The Associated Press-NORC Center of Public Affairs, the poll found that 75% of households making less than $50,000 a year would have difficulty coming up with $1,000 to cover an unexpected bill.
NEW YORK — A new poll from The Associated Press shows that two-third of American would have difficulty coming up with the money to cover a $1,000 emergency.
Conducted by The Associated Press-NORC Center of Public Affairs Research, the poll showed that 75% of people in households making less than $50,000 a year would have difficulty coming up with $1,000 to cover an unexpected bill. That percentage fell only slightly for households making between $50,000 and $100,000.
