NEW YORK -- Charles Robinson has joined Asbury Automotive Group Inc. as vice president of finance and insurance. Robinson will replace Thomas McCollum, who recently left this position to become chief executive officer and president of Asbury's McDavid Auto Group, based in Irving, Texas.
Before joining Asbury, Robinson spent 24 years with AON, where he most recently served as president and chief executive officer of AON's Resource Dealer Group. Resource Dealer Group distributes insurance products to the retail auto industry. At Resource Dealer Group, Robinson managed the national field force, maintained and strengthened client relationships through enhanced same-store profitability, and managed key vendor relationships. Prior to working for AON, Robinson was the general manager for two different dealerships.
