AutoNation executives signed the National Automobile Dealers Association's newly revised code of ethics on Jan. 20. The signing ceremony is the first step by the nation's largest dealership group to work more closely with NADA on issues affecting the industry, said AutoNation Chairman Mike Jackson.
H. Carter Myers III, NADA chairman, spoke to AutoNation's general managers in Fort Lauderdale, Fla. He said AutoNation is setting a good example for the industry. "We welcome AutoNation's support on an issue as important as ethics in our industry. And as we continue to work with our core constituency, we look forward to further contributions from publicly owned retailers.”
