CallCommand(TM), a provider of Web-based communication solutions to automotive retailers nationwide, on Jan. 12 announced the release of Community Safe, new technology linking dealership and community to improve safety, promote awareness and enhance communication to customers and prospects.

Americans are currently very concerned about safety; Community Safe provides added protection to the towns in which it is deployed, according to CallCommand. It will be unveiled at the 2004 NADA convention and exposition in Las Vegas, Jan. 31-Feb. 3, booth #3370.

Dealers have long been a source of vital support to their local communities, yet recently came under attack from the Ralph Nader-founded consumer group "Public Citizen." Community Safe provides dealers with a new tool to help resolve any community perception issues, create safer communities and build top of mind awareness. It is an instant alert and communication system that allows the dissemination of vital information to all citizens within a specific geographical radius. This communication tool, according to CallCommand, simultaneously provides dealers with a more timely and cost effective way to communicate to their customers and prospects.

"Over 90 percent of customers are completely satisfied with their new car purchase and delivery experience, yet dealers are under attack; their business practices and ethics are being questioned by certain groups," said Al Babbington, CallCommand CEO. "CallCommand is releasing Community Safe to help dealers fight back: this technology is another way of highlighting the vital role that dealers play in their communities."

In today's climate of escalating terrorist threats, many communities are searching for effective methods to inform citizens of any imminent danger. With Community Safe, CallCommand says local dealerships can become a community resource for broadcasting information in the event of an emergency.

The Community Safe program will enlist CallCommand's newly developed technology that allows the simultaneous broadcast of a voicemail message to tens of thousands of individuals within a matter of minutes. CallCommand says the process is simple and calls are executed with advanced telephony that does not tie up resources such as phone lines and personnel.

CallCommand and local dealerships will work in conjunction with community police and fire officials. The system is designed to call the phones and deliver an emergency message from a public official to all homes within a selected radius of an event. Fires, gas leaks, abductions or terrorist acts are among the numerous emergencies that will benefit from a more direct and instant way of communicating to all households.

With Community Safe, CallCommand says it "provides dealers with a full suite of tools to safely and aggressively market their businesses."

According to CallCommand, Community Safe will also provide tools necessary to:

  • Create full compliance to FTC Do Not Call legislation

  • Comply with the Treasury Department terrorist list

  • Communicate more effectively to sales and service customers

  • Improve dealer image in the community

  • Close a higher percentage of prospects

  • Increase service revenue

According to Babbington, Community Safe provides a unique win-win situation for both dealerships and the communities in which it is deployed. "With Community Safe, dealers now have a tool that enables them to both increase their profits and give back to their communities," Babbington said.
