Central Florida Auto Auction Employee Committed To Raising Funds
Manheim Auction's announced August 19 that
Louis Fazio, Jr., dealer relations manager at Central Florida Auto Auction, will once again participate in the Founder's Day 5K walk on October 12. Diagnosed with cerebal palsy at 6 months old, Fazio has never allowed his condition to limit his achievements.
"Having a total hip replacement and being wheelchair-bound may describe his physical state, but his heart overcomes any impairment," said Charlie White, general manager. "Through rehabilitation, Louis participated in this 5K walk last October and raised more than $12,000 to benefit Health Central Park Nursing Home's Dementia/Special Care Wing in Ocoee, Fla."
This year, Fazio says he is determined to surpass his previous goal. In addition to helping the senior citizens, he will raise funds for Health Central Foundation's School Nurse program. The program currently provides nurses for 28 schools in the Orange County area, and for many of the children who attend those schools these nurses are the only professional health care providers they see.
"The need is great, but my determination is greater," said Fazio. "It's better to help than to be helped."
"Louis dedicates much of his time to charity work," said White. "He truly is an inspiration to all of us at Central Florida Auto Auction."
