Chrome Systems Corporation, provider of automotive data, configuration technology and commerce solutions, has announced the latest release of Chrome Inventory Search(tm), an online tool for searching a dealer's inventory and locating desired matches. The company says this latest release includes several enhancements, most notably, the ability for online shoppers to find a specific vehicle in a dealer's inventory and get a "lemon check" history of the vehicle from Consumer Guide.

According to the company, new features in Chrome Inventory Search(tm) include ranking of vehicle search results based on high, medium, or low criteria matches; the capability to sort results by make, model, price or mileage; and the automatic pre-selection of standard options.

Additionally, this release adds an optional "lemon check" link. Now when viewing an inventory vehicle, shoppers can click a button and go directly to a high level view of the Consumer Guide® Vehicle History Report for that particular vehicle, where they may elect to purchase a more detailed version of the report.

The company claims a Vehicle History Report by Consumer Guide® is one of the most highly regarded research tools available to car shoppers. A full report includes VIN and odometer history readings, registration history, major accident records and objective reviews and road scores from the Consumer Guide® editors. A report also includes recall, trouble spot or repair cost information.

The combination of Chrome Inventory Search(tm) and Consumer Guide® enables consumers to be more assured about the vehicle they are researching, closing the gap between consideration and purchase, according to the company.

"We're very excited about this release because it brings together Chrome Systems and Consumer Guide®, both trusted names in automotive commerce. Chrome's corporate mission is to help make it easier to buy and sell vehicles, on the Web and on the lot. With this latest version of CIS, we've found another meaningful way to support this mission," said David Mingle, president of Chrome Systems.

Chrome Inventory Search(tm) is available immediately.
