WESTLAKE VILLAGE, Calif. -- Daimler Chrysler, Ford Motor Co., General Motors Corp. and Hyundai Motor have each lost retail market share in the first 11 days of December when compared to the same period a year ago, according to the Power Information Network (PIN).
DaimlerChrysler’s retail market share this period was down 12.6 percent, GM’s was down 21.7 percent, Ford’s was down 15.8 percent and Hyundai’s was down 3.8 percent, when compared to the first 12 days of December 2004. However, Toyota Motor and American Honda both gained market share during the same period. Nissan Motor’s market share remained flat at 7.4 percent.
