Dominion Enterprises Acquires Autobase Inc.
Dominion Enterprises, a media and information services company, has acquired Autobase, a supplier of auto dealership marketing and sales solutions.
Norfolk, Va. — Dominion Enterprises, a media and information services company, has acquired Autobase, a supplier of auto dealership marketing and sales solutions. Terms of the transaction were not disclosed.
Founded in 1988 and headquartered in Indianapolis, Autobase is the pioneer of customer relationship management (CRM) tools for the automotive retail industry. The company provides marketing and sales solutions services to more than 25,000 users in over 1,800 automotive dealerships nationwide.
"Traditional sales processes in the auto dealer market have been slow to evolve, but the benefits of using CRM tools are quickly becoming essential. As the 22,000 franchise auto dealers in the U.S. move to adopt a results-based sales process, Autobase is a trusted brand that can fill this need," said Mitch Brooks, executive vice president of Dominion Enterprises.
Conrad M. Hall, president and chief executive officer of Dominion Enterprises, said of the acquisition, "We view this acquisition as an exciting new addition to our growing portfolio of automotive businesses that help auto dealers sell more cars with technology and Web solutions. Autobase was the first to establish CRM tools for the automotive industry and we are proud to welcome them to the Dominion Enterprises family."
Dominion Enterprises' portfolio of businesses for the automotive industry currently includes: Dealer Specialties, @utoRevenue, Dealerskins, InterActive Financial Marketing Group, Cross-Sell, Just Automotive, Mailmark, SelectQu, XIGroup.
Bryan D. Anderson, founder and president of Autobase, will continue to lead the company as general manager.
The Autobase purchase is Dominion Enterprises' second acquisition in the automotive segment in the last two weeks. On June 5, the company purchased InterActive Financial Marketing Group, a special finance lead generation and marketing company, based in Richmond, Va.
