Ford Motor Co. increased cash rebates by $500 on some cars and trucks and added 60-month, no-interest loans on two models, adjusting incentives in response to rivals, according to Bloomberg News.
The world's second-largest automaker raised the rebates to as much as $3,000 on some 2003 models and $4,000 on 2002 vehicles. Those with
higher rebates include the 2003 Explorer sport-utility, at $1,500; the 2003 Windstar minivan, at $2,500; and 2003 Taurus sedan, at $2,000, Ford said in a statement.
Some of it should be given to the customer, but that doesn’t mean the F&I office relinquishes the process. In fact, a different approach both builds trust and boosts sales.
