Ford Motor Co. on Sept. 6 joined General Motors Corp. and the Chrysler Group of DaimlerChrysler in offering zero percent financing on many 2003 model vehicles.
Ford said it is enhancing its new vehicle incentives by offering zero percent financing and cash rebates up to $2,000 on many of its 2003 Ford brand cars, trucks and sport utility vehicles.
Ford reduced financing rates, now including zero percent on 36-month contracts, on 2003 Ford Crown Victoria, Windstar, Taurus, Mustang, F-150, F-Series Super Duty and Excursion. An extra $500 rebate also was added to previous cash rebates offered on 2003 Crown Victoria, Windstar, Taurus, Mustang, F-Series Super Duty and Escape.
Ford also continues its 2002 sell-down event by offering zero percent financing up to 60 months or cash rebates up to $3,500 on most models.
"We're offering customers the best of both worlds," said Steve Lyons, Ford Division president. "With interest-free financing for 60 months on 2002 models and for 36 months on 2003 models, there's no question some of the best deals available are on Ford brand vehicles."
The new Ford incentives are available Sept. 6 through Sept. 30, 2002.
Through Jan. 2, General Motors is offering 1.9 percent to 2.9 percent financing on 2002 models. The new GM program for 2003 models likely will reduce the number of zero percent loans GM provides, since fewer buyers choose three-year loans due largely to their higher monthly payments.
Chrysler also has zero percent financing on most 2002 models through Sept. 30. Chrysler said on Sept. 4 it would continue to offer its zero percent deal for 60 months on its 2002 models, and it also is offering zero percent financing for 36 months on most of its 2003 models. The offer will run through Oct. 31.
Excluded from the 2003 incentive program are the Jeep Liberty, the heavy duty Ram pickup, the eL and eX model minivans and the Dodge Viper. PT Cruisers sold in Chrysler's West region -- Washington, Oregon, Idaho, Montana, Wyoming, Colorado, New Mexico, Arizona, Utah, Nevada and California -- also are excluded.
