NORRISTOWN, Pa. — Former auto dealer Benjamin Marchese,32, pleaded guilty to stealing millions of dollars from his customers to support his gambling addiction, reported the Associated Press.
As business manager of B-J Marchese Auto World in Limerick, Pa., Marchese stole the identities of customers and relatives over a three-year period, prosecutors said.
According to the Associated Press, Marchese admitted to the judge he had a gambling problem and apologized for his actions. He is expected to serve 29 to 59 months in jail and will attend a Gamblers Anonymous program while on parole.
The judge also ordered Marchese to pay the charges for bad checks he wrote, totally more than $130,000.
The increasingly important profit center continued making gains in the first quarter, according to StoneEagle data, ancillary products proving more popular as consumers hold onto their buys longer.
