A streamlined system by USAutoNews.com for quickly enabling auto dealers to expand their offerings in the lucrative automotive vehicle service contract market will be used by Galpin Ford, the largest Ford dealership in the country.

Galpin Ford, based in North Hills, Calif., has signed up for the Private Label Service Contract program provided by USAutoNews.com, which bills itself as "the first and largest dealer-centric automotive Internet portal and exchange." Private Label Service Contract is quickly customized to Galpin’s brand and provides its customers the ability to learn about extended vehicle service contracts, get quotes and purchase an extended vehicle service contract, according to James Kennedy, vice president of sales and marketing for USAutoNews.com.

"Private Label Service Contract provides a quick, easy and low-cost extended service contract Web site that can directly link to a dealer’s existing Web site," Kennedy said. "For nearly one in three cars that are sold outside the dealership between private parties, Private Label Service Contract enables dealers to access this market and gives consumers the ability to protect their car and have it serviced by a local dealer." The result, according to Kennedy, is that the dealer gets a new customer and the consumer has the convenience and safety of doing business with a local dealer.

“Galpin’s success is based on understanding the changing needs of our customers and taking care of those needs,” said H.F. “Bert” Boeckmann II, owner and president of Galpin Ford, Jaguar, Lincoln Mercury and Saturn. “They like the convenience of the Internet to research and to purchase products, but the convenience and quality assurance they get from the dealer. That is why we chose to brand the Private Label Service Contract website to GoGalpin.com. It will provide vehicle service contract quote and purchase opportunities to our current and future customers.”

“This agreement with the Galpin Dealership Group is a major validation of what we call e-local, that is utilizing the Internet to improve local sales and service,” Kennedy said.
