But prices from April to September should average $1.76 nationwide, according the Energy Information Administration summer fuels report. This would be a record for the summer vaction season, up 20 cents per gallon from last year, according to The Detroit News.
At the same time, the gasoline demand is also expected to break records this summer at 9.32 million barrels a day, said the Administration.
AAA reported April 9 that the national average price of gasoline was $1.77.
