GMAC Announces Key Executive Moves in N.A. Operations

DETROIT -- Barbara Stokel will succeed the retiring John Gibson as executive vice president of GMAC North American Operations as of Jan. 1, 2006, and will be responsible for its U.S. and Canadian automotive financing operations, as well as its Nuvell and Semperian subsidiaries.

DETROIT -- Barbara Stokel will succeed the retiring John Gibson as executive vice president of GMAC North American Operations as of Jan. 1, 2006, and will be responsible for its U.S. and Canadian automotive financing operations, as well as its Nuvell and Semperian subsidiaries.

The move means that Stokel will become a member of the GMAC Executive Committee and will be joining the GMAC Board of Directors, in addition to the boards of GMAC Insurance, GMAC Automotive Bank, Nuvell and Semperian. Gibson will retire at the end of the year after 44 years of service to GM and GMAC.
