How Can Dealers Profit From Stolen Vehicles? Ask EtchGuard
EtchGuard International has announced the release of EtchGuard Advance Notification System (EANS).
“Unlike any other company selling glass etching programs, EtchGuard has 24/7 vehicle theft reporting and recovery services," said Gerard Marino, company president and founder. "If a vehicle has been reported stolen and not recovered within 2 weeks, we will contact the dealer that sold that vehicle, informing him of the details. This will give that dealer a two week advantage before the customer goes shopping for a replacement vehicle, as insurance companies usually take the full 31 days to pay on a claim."
"The dealer can even apply the $2500 that the customer receives from EtchGuard, towards the down payment," Marino said. "In a recent test with a large dealer group, the closing rate approached 75 percent with both the customer and the dealer thrilled. The customer was treated with care and concern and had a replacement vehicle without delay. And the dealer made an additional sale. You can be sure they purchased EtchGuard on their replacement vehicle too.
"The latest FBI Uniform Crime Report (1999) showed that auto theft continues at a rate well above 1 million vehicles and costs in excess of $7 billion per year, so the opportunity to sell replacement vehicles is very large,” Marino said.
