JM Family Appoints Carmen Johnson as Senior VP and General Counsel
JM Family Enterprises Inc. (JM Family) announced Monday the promotion of Carmen Johnson to senior vice president and general counsel.
DEERFIELD BEACH, Fla. — JM Family Enterprises Inc. (JM Family) announced Monday the promotion of Carmen Johnson to senior vice president and general counsel. In this new role, Johnson will also become a member of the executive management team.
As general counsel, she will serve as principal legal advisor for JM Family and its business units. And as a member of the executive management team, Johnson will contribute to the development and implementation of the company’s long-range and strategic planning. In addition, she will continue to direct JM Family’s human resources functions, which include HR operations, training, benefits and medical services.
Johnson served as vice president of human resources & total rewards since joining JM Family in September 2007. Prior to that, she specialized in labor-related law and employment compliance with more than 20 years of experience, most recently with the national law firm of Akerman Senterfitt. Johnson also served as JM Family’s outside employment counsel for 10 years before joining the company.
She earned her law and business administration degrees from the University of Miami. Johnson is a member of the Florida Bar and is admitted to practice in multiple courts, including the U.S. Supreme Court. She is also board certified in labor and employment law.
