GM presented Northstar with a plaque on Monday, April 15, at the auction. Dan Kennedy, GM sales manager, and Tom Gove, regional sales manager for General Motors, attended. The awards ceremony was followed by a celebratory steak dinner for employees of Northstar Auto Auction. Northstar says it held a closed GM auction of 1,000 units on Tuesday, April 16.

"Jerry Aman and his team at Northstar are a team we count on to deliver strong results week in and week out – and they deliver," said Jeffrey Heichel, director-GM used vehicle activities. "We are very proud of our relationship with Manheim Auctions in general and Manheim’s Northstar Auto Auction in particular as we present Northstar with our most prestigious award, the Auction of the Year."

"Manheim Auctions has a tradition of great service," said Kennedy. "Northstar’s performance in 2001 is a credit to the auction industry."
