Manheim Develops Retail Ready Program for All Honda Financial Services Auction Vehicles
Manheim Auctions is developing an inspection program that promotes and provides ready-for-retail Honda and Acura vehicles for sale at auctions across the country.
The Honda Financial Services Retail Ready program will kick off August 22 at Manheim's Southern California and Atlanta Auto Auctions and will expand to include all auctions throughout the industry that sell Honda Financial Services vehicles. Manheim Auctions created the program in cooperation with American Honda Financial Services and will use specific inspection criteria to ensure buyers at auctions that vehicles inspected and labeled "Retail Ready" will be certification candidates for retail.
"Honda Financial Services challenged Manheim to develop a first-rate inspection program for all dealers that will be used at auction facilities throughout the industry," said Milton Schoof, Manheim's vice president of national accounts. "Retail Ready vehicles will bring increased value to buyers and sellers as well as build confidence and brand preference by providing vehicles that are truly ready for retail."
According to the company, certified technicians will perform multipoint inspections on qualified Acura and Honda vehicles, using the same inspection criteria implemented by the brands' dealers at retail. Qualified vehicles will have less than 80,000 miles and be no more than six model-years old. Reconditioning and repairs are provided to qualify the highest possible number of Retail Ready vehicles at each auction location.
"The new Retail Ready program is just one way we bring only the best vehicles to our customers," said David Langley, the national remarketing manager for American Honda Finance Corporation. "As the used car industry continues to grow, the standard for high-quality vehicles rises every day. This new program will help set Honda and Acura apart from the competition."
The program will offer Retail Ready vehicles at the Atlanta Auto Auction sale August 29 and the Florida Auto Auction of Orlando sale September 17. Dates will be announced soon for initial Retail Ready sales in Chicago and Bordentown, N.J.
