Manheim Auctions has announced that its mobile vehicle inspection company, Lemon Busters, has merged with its end-of-term network, Service Solutions, to form Inspection Solutions, effective Jan. 1, 2001. Inspection Solutions combines the strengths of both companies to provide mobile and fixed site automobile inspection services, according to Nick Peluso, president of Manheim Logistic Solutions.

“With the combination of Lemon Busters and Service Solutions, we have created a company that offers the best of both worlds for both our commercial and wholesale customers,” Peluso said. “Inspection Solutions offers our customers the ability to have their off-lease vehicles inspected and fees collected at either company, allowing them to be more efficient in their remarketing efforts.”

Inspection Solutions will be based at Manheim Logistics Solutions’ headquarters in Nashville, Tenn., and the former Lemon Busters base in Austin, Texas, will now operate as a regional office for Manheim Logistic Solutions services.

Fred Beyer, former Manheim executive director of reconditioning, will act as executive director for development for Manheim’s complete logistics company, of which Inspection Solutions is a part.

Manheim also announced the promotions of John Adams, Barry Sprague and Cynthia Meyer. As the former owners of Lemon Busters, both Adams and Sprague have a great deal of experience in vehicle inspection.

Adams has been appointed director of operations for the mobile inspections branch of the new company, and Sprague will serve as director of development for Manheim Logistics and report to Beyer. Meyer will serve as director of sales and marketing efforts for the retail piece, still known as Lemon Busters.

Lemon Busters, which was purchased by Manheim Auctions in August 2000, offers high-quality mobile vehicle inspections performed by highly trained and certified personnel. Lemon Busters operates with a fleet of vans fully equipped with all of the necessary inspection and diagnostic equipment to properly inspect any foreign or domestic vehicle.
