Mopar and Meguiar's Give Chrysler, Dodge and Jeep Owners Vehicle Appearance Products
Beginning in April, 2003, the Mopar Parts Division of DaimlerChrysler Corporation and surface care product provider Meguiar’s say they will launch a co-labeled line of Vehicle Care Products.
According to the company, these products will be formulated exclusively by Meguiar’s for Chrysler, Dodge and Jeep vehicles, and will be marketed through Chrysler Group dealerships in North America. The products include Cleaner Wax, Finish Enhancer, Wheel Cleaner, Car Wash, and Tire Treatment Gel.
“Consumers today are faced with an overwhelming number of vehicle care products when they walk into your typical auto parts retail store, all claiming to be the best” said Paul Kelly, Mopar’s director-accessory portfolio. “We chose to partner up with Meguiar’s because they are the best.
“By having a full line of premium vehicle care products with both the Mopar and Meguiar’s logos, available only at Chrysler Group dealerships, we eliminate the confusion. These are simply the best products available for Chrysler, Dodge and Jeep vehicles.”
Barry Meguiar, current president and CEO of Meguiar’s, said the 100-year-old company gives a great deal of consideration to co-labeling its products. “The decision to introduce the co-labeled product was made after careful review, and with the knowledge that the Meguiar’s vehicle care product line is considered to be the best among enthusiasts, collectors and those who know paint,” said Meguiar.
“Owners of Chrysler, Dodge and Jeep vehicles can rest assured that these fine products, sold through their local dealership, will be second to none in quality of formulations and performance,” Meguiar added.
“As we continue to improve the quality and durability of our vehicle exterior surfaces, it’s important that vehicle owners use premium care products to keep them looking their best,” added Mopar’s Kelly. “Many of the products on the market today simply don’t meet the quality requirements of Mopar and Meguiar’s.”
Meguiar’s celebrates its 102nd anniversary in 2003. What began as a simple furniture polish laboratory in the garage of founder Frank Meguiar, Jr., now spans four generations of the Meguiar family. The family business now manufacturers more than 300 different cleaners, polishes, waxes, conditioners, and protectants for homes, cars, boats, planes, and almost every other kind of surface.
For more than 65 years, Mopar Parts has been the original equipment supplier of parts, components and accessories for Chrysler Group vehicles, which currently include the Chrysler, Dodge and Jeep brands.
