Carfax, creator of the vehicle history report, announced Jan. 25 the
introduction of Voice of the Consumer, a new product that allows
Carfaxonline.com subscribers to obtain direct feedback from consumers
in their area.
Carfax unveiled the product at the 2002 National Automobile
Dealers Association (NADA) Convention and Exposition in New Orleans,
January 26th-29th.
Voice of the Consumer offers dealer subscribers access to
real-time unbiased feedback that is gathered from thousands of
Carfax.com visitors each month. Reports resulting from customer
surveys tell dealers what customers think of their dealerships, their
competitors' dealerships, and include overall customer satisfaction
scores based on selection of cars, price, location and service.
According to Carfax, this service helps dealers stay
competitive by identifying key areas for improvement.
"With access to more than 20-million active and vocal car buyers
each year, the product practically developed itself," explains Scott
Fredericks, vice president of marketing for Carfax. "Dealers can use
the consumer information to improve service and increase customer
satisfaction and sales." In addition to ratings, the reports offer
dealers candid and unedited comments from customers.
Charlie Rocha of Belnap Subaru participated in a research study
for Voice of the Consumer and felt that the new tool would be an asset
when monitoring the success of the dealership. "Knowing how our
customers view us--their experience with us--is our most valuable tool
for improvement," said Mr. Rocha.
