The Cobalt Group announced it has unveiled Media Tracker™, a performance measurement system that enables automotive marketers and automobile dealers to measure and to maximize the return on their marketing investments. Cobalt is a provider of e-business software and services to the automotive retail market.

Media Tracker, based on technology provided by CallSource, a provider of telephone traffic reporting and recording, tells automotive marketers and dealers which marketing campaigns are the most effective and generate the best customer response, according to the company. Media Tracker provides dealers with nationwide toll-free numbers to post with ads in each marketing channel—newspaper, radio, television, Web sites, billboards, direct mail or other.

Media Tracker monitors all inbound calls generated by advertisements then tracks the source of each call, records the conversation, and reports the call data, including every caller's telephone number.

"The average dealership spends more than $300,000 a year in vehicle advertising costs, yet most don't have a reliable way to track or analyze the effectiveness," said Mike Martinez, The Cobalt Group's vice president of marketing. "By identifying effective advertising and providing key customer information, Media Tracker enables automotive marketers and dealers to make smarter marketing investments and increase vehicle sales."

According to the company, Media Tracker integrates directly with Cobalt Lead Manager, to allow dealers to record all customer information and transactions in a single application and measure true sales results.

To sign up or get more information about Media Tracker, contact Cobalt at 800-909-9244 or e-mail sales@cobaltgroup.com.
