The GM Minority Dealers to Gather in Florida for Summer Conference
The General Motors Minority Dealers Association (GMMDA), together with its partner General Motors Minority Dealer Development, have announced they will gather in Naples, Florida for the 2003 GM Summer PEP Conference. The conference will be held from July 22nd – 27th at the Registry Resort & Club.
According to the company, the PEP Conference, hosted by GM Minority Dealer Development, is designed to give dealers within the GM minority dealer network an opportunity to master the finer points of business management principles, enhance opportunities for success and improve their potential for profit. The GMMDA will host a number of professional seminars and events in conjunction with the conference. Conference highlights include a celebration of the 2nd Annual GMMDA Day and a golf tournament cosponsored by GMAC Financial Services. The PEP conference is open to all GM minority dealers.
The company says another conference highlight includes a vendor exhibition by the GMMDA Preferred Vendors. The exhibition provides an opportunity for automotive vendors and suppliers to showcase their products and services to the GM minority dealers.
“It is important for GM and its dealers to work as a team to achieve common goals,” said GMMDA President Gregory Jackson. “The PEP Conference offers minority dealers an excellent opportunity to build relationships and discover how we can work together to create positive change.”
“We feel honored to have been chosen as the host site for such an incredible group,” said General Manager Ron Albeit of the Registry Resort & Club. “The resort has just completed a $30 million renovation including all tower guestrooms, conference facilities and all of our pool and beach areas. We’ve also undergone an extensive employee-training program to introduce new standards and service levels to complement our enhanced physical product. We are grateful for an opportunity to share these improvements with such prestigious guests as those who will be in attendance at the GM Summer PEP Conference.”
The GMMDA is a non-profit organization that represents the interest of over 400 minority owned General Motors dealerships across the country. The GMMDA says its mission is to promote, protect and encourage the viability and profitability of all existing General Motors minority dealers, and to encourage, through cooperative efforts with General Motors, the installation of new minority dealers in viable and profitable opportunities.
