The Warranty Group Names New General Counsel
The Warranty Group Inc., an underwriter, administrator and marketer of service plans, today announced that John Curtis has been appointed senior vice president, general counsel and corporate secretary.
CHICAGO — The Warranty Group Inc., an underwriter, administrator and marketer of service plans, today announced that John Curtis has been appointed senior vice president, general counsel and corporate secretary.
“John brings insight, experience and passion to this critical position, and his counsel will be a great asset with the opportunities that lie ahead," said David Cole, chairman and CEO of The Warranty Group. “His deep industry experience will benefit our company and our clients around the world.”
Curtis served as president and CEO of First Extended Corporation, which was acquired by The Warranty Group in 2001. Since the acquisition of The Warranty Group by Onex Corporation in 2006, he served on the board of directors as chairman of the governance committee. He is a former partner of Baker & McKenzie and has spent over 25 years practicing corporate law.
Curtis holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in political science and a law degree from the University of Texas at Austin and serves on several boards of directors.
