Toyota Expands Satellite Radio Offerings

DETROIT -- Sirius Satellite Radio and XM Satellite Radio have announced separate distribution agreements with Toyota Motor Corp. for installation in new vehicles.

DETROIT -- Sirius Satellite Radio and XM Satellite Radio have announced separate distribution agreements with Toyota Motor Corp. for installation in new vehicles.


Sirius said its equipment will be available as a dealer-installed option on nine Toyota and Lexus models as early as February 2005, according to The Detroit News.

XM is currently available as a dealer-installed option on 10 Toyota and Lexus models and more are expected next year. Beginning in 2006, Toyota will offer XM equipment as a factory-installed option.


Sirius has 800,000-plus subscribers while XM has about 2.5 million subscribers.
