OVERLAND PARK, Kan. -- Dealers now have another resource to help them more easily comply with the Gramm-Leach-Bliley Act. The Compliance Action Plan (CAP), developed by Universal Underwriters Insurance Co., Member Benefits Services Inc., Continental-National Services Corp. and Dealership Defense LLP, recommends tools that dealers can utilize to help them comply with the Safeguards Rule.
The Association of Finance & Insurance Professionals-endorsed Safeguards Rule Kit and the Defender Suite, offered by Dealership Defense, are expected to reduce a dealer’s exposure to fines imposed as a result of non-compliance with the Safeguards Rule.
The Defender Suite addresses the FTC requirements related to mandated network vulnerability scans and other electronic protection requisites. Customers of Universal Underwriters will be offered the suite at a reduced rate as part of the Compliance Action Plan.
