USA Today reported Apr. 2 that auto sales were affected very little in March by war in Iraq and record high gasoline prices. However, USA Today noted, General Motors launched a 0 percent, five-year loan program with Ford Motor and Chrysler Group matching it shortly thereafter.
USA Today reported that the annual selling rate in March was 16.2 million cars and trucks, according to Autodata, down from 16.7 million in March 2002.
