AutoTrader.com, which calls itself "the largest and busiest online automotive marketplace for buyers and sellers," on April 4 announced the launch of two new dealer products, Dealer Call Tracking and Multiple Photos.

Starting immediately, dealers can assign a toll-free number to their listings that tracks phone calls generated by AutoTrader.com. Multiple Photos, also launching, allows dealers to upload

up to nine vehicle photos into their AutoTrader.com listing.

AutoTrader.com said both of these products will enhance the value for dealers advertising with the site.

The vast majority of AutoTrader.com's lead traffic for dealers takes place via the phone rather than e-mail, according to Joe George, vice president of product management. "Dealers are always looking for the best value for their advertising dollar," George said. "Call Tracking, in addition to regular monthly lead reports, lets dealers track and measure how much

traffic AutoTrader.com drives to their dealership."

Through Multiple Photos dealers now have the ability to upload larger photos or up to nine separate photos of inventory listed on AutoTrader.com, allowing buyers to do a "virtual walk-around" of each vehicle. Photos found on the Find Your Car Vehicle Detail Page are uploaded through AutoTrader.com's AdManager, an administration tool.

This will allow dealers to make their cars more marketable by showing different angles of the car, including the interior or under the hood, according to AutoTrader.com.

AutoTrader.com said its research shows that listings with photos get 275 percent more traffic than those without. The company provides dealers with several advertising tools to match their ongoing needs. In addition to Call Tracking and Multiple Photos, AutoTrader.com offers Dynamic Display Ads, highlighting inventory the consumer is most interested in seeing based on selected preferences.

Dealers using AutoTrader.com have the opportunity to market their inventory to more than 7 million consumers every month, which represents a growth in traffic of 43 percent over last year, according to the company.

"We are constantly reviewing ideas and comments from our customers," said Chip Perry, president and CEO of AutoTrader.com. "The opportunity to showcase their vehicles through multiple photos is one request that we knew we had to implement. Dealers want to make their cars as appealing as possible to the largest consumer audience. AutoTrader.com products accomplish both. Multiple Photos is the next step in our comprehensive online classified advertising product line."
