SACRAMENTO – The California New Car Dealers Association (CNCDA) announced that new-vehicle registrations in California increased 17.7 percent during the first quarter vs. the year-ago period.
Noting that the California market outperformed U.S. sales, which increased by about 13%, the association said the state’s new-vehicle market is in full recovery. The trade group forecasted that new-vehicle registrations will reach nearly 1.5 million this year.
“The first quarter sales results bode well for our industry in 2012," said John McCallan, CNCDA Chairman and operator of Kearny Pearson Ford & Kia in San Diego and Raceway Ford in Riverside, Calif.
