Dealer Ordered to Pay $2M in Restitution
As part of a plea bargain for failing to give $1.2 million in sales tax to the state, the New Jersey dealer will pay restitution and will never again own, work at or consult for a dealership in the state.
BRIDGETON, N.J. — A used car dealer was ordered to pay more than $2 million in restitution and to never again own, work at or consult for any New Jersey dealership after admitting to not giving the state more than $1.2 million in sales tax, the Courier Post Online reports.
Nicholas A. Bidic was also placed on probation for five years, but will not serve jail time as part of his plea bargain with the state. About $200,000 of Bidic’s restitution will go toward settling 42 customer complaints against him and the four dealerships he operated. His business license was also revoked.
