In Massachusetts and New York, McGovern Automotive Group kept its 2022 buying spree going by buying three dealerships: Capital Volvo Cars of Albany – renamed McGovern Volvo Cars of Albany -- and Jaguar-Land Rover Albany from Eric Kahn for its first foray into those brands; and Dan O’Brien Kia Norwood near Boston from O’Brien of O’Brien Auto Group, renaming it McGovern Kia of Norwood.
The purchases give McGovern a total of 23 dealerships of new and used cars.
In West Virginia, Ken Ganley Cos. in Ohio picked up Freedom Kia of Clarksburg in Bridgeport from Mike Wood for its first store in that state, renaming it Ken Ganley Kia Clarksburg.
Earlier this month, the group bought two Kia dealerships in Ohio: Taylor Kia of Boardman and Taylor Kia of Alliance from Matthew Taylor, rebranding them as Ken Ganley stores.
Automotive News ranks Ken Ganley Cos. 15th on its list of the top 150 U.S.-based dealership groups.
