Porsche Dealership Breaks Ground in Illinois

Joseph Nicholas Construction and Murgado Automotive Group broke ground on what will be the largest Porsche dealership in Illinois and one of the largest in the country, the construction firm said.
The new dealership and service center will be two stories tall and about 134,000 square feet, employing 80 to 100 people when it's scheduled to open next spring. The site is at 24 E. Dundee Road in Barrington, Ill., 40 miles northwest of downtown Chicago.
The new rooftop, Barrington Porsche, will be the new location of Murgado’s existing Porsche dealership, which is currently in the Motor Werks of Barrington auto mall. Moving to a stand-alone location will “expand the dealership’s capacity by accommodating a larger on-site inventory” the firm said.
“This is more than just a groundbreaking, it’s the beginning of what will become a landmark destination for automotive enthusiasts across the Midwest,” said JNC director of construction Joey Mariconda.
“Projects of this scale and caliber don’t come around often, and to deliver what will become the largest Porsche dealership in Illinois on one of Chicagoland’s most recognizable automotive corridors is an incredibly proud and historic moment for our team. This facility represents the future of luxury automotive retail, and we’re honored to help bring that vision to life alongside Murgado Automotive Group.”
Murgado Automotive owns and operates over 30 rooftops across five states, including Illinois, Virginia, California, New Jersey and Florida, the latter its state of origin.
