Virginia Woman Sues Dealership for False Imprisonment
A Virginia woman is suing a dealership there for allegedly forcing her to buy a car. She is seeking $400,000 in damages, the Virginia-Pilot reports.
CHESAPEAKE, Va. —A female consumer filed a lawsuit against Nissan of Chesapeake, claiming the staff there held her against her will and forced her to buy a vehicle she did not want and at a higher price than she was quoted, reports the Virginian-Pilot.
Jennifer Faulkenberry is seeking $400,000 in damages for false imprisonment, unjust enrichment and breach of the Virginia Consumer Protection Act. Dan Banister, the dealership’s managing partner, said his staff worked until after closing only because they wanted to help her finalize the deal.
