Four new RV-specific sales training manuals are now available through the RVDA Education Foundation. Written by sales trainer Mike Whitty of Salesperson, Inc., these manuals can help dealers and their top managers train salespeople right at the dealership, motivate employees to improve performance, and cut training preparation time, according to the RVDA Education Foundation.

For salespeople, the manuals focus on "real-world" and customer service skills that can help them make more sales and earn more money, according to the RVDA.

"These new sales training manuals by Mike Whitty got my attention," said Tim O'Brien of Circle K RVs in Lapeer, Mich. "The content focuses on skills and the materials are user-friendly."

Manuals in the sales training library include:

RV Salesperson 2001 -- The complete guide to selling new and used RVs. Includes topics such as proper qualifying, handling objections, follow-up procedures, and closing. (142 pages)

RV Salesperson, Inc. -- Reviews the business side of selling RVs. A self-study program that teaches RV salespeople how to "run their business like a business." (123 pages)

RV Manager's 52-Week Lesson Planbook -- Provides sales managers all the material necessary to produce weekly half-hour training sessions with minimal preparation. (162 pages)

RV Manager 2001 -- Provides department managers with the tools necessary to become effective leaders. (152 pages)

"The manuals build a solid foundation for sales skills, and teach salespeople to become better business people," said RVDA Education Foundation Chairman Rick Horsey of Parkview RV Center in Smyrna, Del. "They are very RV-specific and would be useful to many dealerships."

Dealers have the option of purchasing the books individually or can save money by purchasing the complete set. The four-manual set is $407 for RVDA members and $581 for non-members. RV Salesperson 2001, RV Salesperson Inc., and RV Manager 2001 are available for $69 each for RVDA members and $97 for non-members. Individual copies of RV Manager's 52-Week Lesson Planbook are $225 for members and $315 for non-members.
