CHARLOTTE, N.C. -- LoJack's Stolen Vehicle Recovery Systems are now available in the greater Charlotte, N.C., area, announced the company Tuesday. The system was directly integrated into 10 state, regional and local law enforcement agencies; they can use it to track and recover LoJack-equipped vehicles if they are reported stolen.

LoJack held a press conference Tuesday outside the Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police Department to announce its availability.

In North Carolina, 68 vehicles are stolen every day, said LoJack President and COO Joseph Abely. The LoJack system has a 90 percent recovery rate, said the company.

To further support vehicle recovery in the Charlotte area, LoJack donated 100 LoJack Police Tracking Computers to be installed in the law enforcement vehicles. The company's law enforcement liaisons will work with Charlotte-area law enforcement to provide training and ongoing support in using LoJack.
