The value of large used-vehicles continued a year-over-year decline in the face of rising fuel prices, reported J.D. Power and Associates.
The five used-vehicle segments with the largest year-over-year price decline include three large vehicle segments and four pickup or utility categories.
Prices of used large pickups, one of the biggest categories in the used- and new-vehicle markets, have eased by more than 5 percent from a year ago, and prices for used large utilities are down by almost as much.
For example, the Cadillac Escalade EXT dropped year-over-year from $35,800 to $30,612.
At the opposite end of the spectrum, prices of used subcompacts and compacts have risen 7 percent and almost 2 percent, respectively.
Three of the five segments with the largest year-over-year price gains are compact vehicle categories, such as the Toyota Yaris which jumped from $9,355 to $10,039.
