Schaumburg, Ill. — Experian Automotive, a division of global business solutions company Experian Inc., recently announced the addition of new and enhanced accident information to its AutoCheck vehicle history reports, expanding its nationwide coverage of police accident report and exclusive frame damage information.

Consumer demand for vehicle history information has grown immensely, with 75 percent of consumers citing whether a vehicle has been in an accident or collision as the most important piece of information in a vehicle’s history. AutoCheck has now developed new and expanded accident data resources, increasing Experian Automotive’s current data sets by tens of millions of records, as part of its continued effort to meet industry needs and build used vehicle buyer confidence. Included within the new records are exclusive frame damage records gathered from physical inspections at vehicle auctions.

Experian Automotive last year introduced exclusive, police-reported accident information on vehicles nationwide. This service continues to provide all AutoCheck customers key information, including accident and frame damage data from all 50 states and the District of Columbia, some of which is only available on AutoCheck vehicle history reports.

This most recent data now provides additional detail to AutoCheck vehicle history reports that can include severity of a collision, where the collision occurred, the areas of the vehicle that were damaged and whether airbags were deployed.

AutoCheck vehicle history reports leverage Experian’s National Vehicle Database of more than half a billion vehicles nationwide. AutoCheck provides integral information on an automobile's history including possible undisclosed or unknown problems such as salvage and flood damage history that can affect an automobile's safety and resale value. In addition, AutoCheck offers its Buyback Protection — buying back vehicles if a major hidden title brand is found. For more information on AutoCheck, please visit www.autocheck.com.
