PORTLAND, Ore. — Chrome Systems Inc., a subsidiary of DealerTrack Holdings Inc., announced Monday that it will provide Chrome's VIN data and decoding solutions to eBay Motors.
The solutions make it easier for sellers to list their vehicles, parts, and accessories, enabling more complete and accurate vehicle listings, and therefore a better experience for buyers and sellers using the eBay Motors website.
Chrome's Automotive Description Service and Chrome IQ solutions will give eBay Motors the capability to enhance search, providing one-to-one vehicle matching for the most detailed brand, model, trim and equipment descriptions. In addition, eBay Motors will soon utilize Chrome's Automotive Aftermarket Industry Association Aftermarket Catalog Enhanced Standard (ACES) mapping solution to help merchandise parts and accessories within vehicle listings. Chrome's ACES mapping solution leverages an industry-wide classification system that helps companies use standardized descriptions designed specifically to simplify the process of listing catalog data.
"With Chrome VIN solutions and functionality, we can help eBay Motors deliver tremendous value to their users," said Amit Maheshwari, general manager of DealerTrack Data Services. "Fueled by more than 25 years of solid automotive data, our solutions will help ensure that eBay Motors' customers have the latest and most accurate information possible."
