RANCHO CUCAMONGA, Calif. -- CU Direct Corp., which administers the Credit Union Direct Lending (CUDL) program has announced a new partnership with Vehicle Title LLC, a joint venture between The First American Corp. and Experian Automotive, through which CUDL credit unions and their members can receive insured title histories on financed pre-owned vehicles.
CUDL selected Vehicle Title’s flagship product, TitleGuard Vehicle Title Insurance, to provide their credit union members with the most accurate and reliable information on their pre-owned vehicles’ pasts. To accomplish this, TitleGuard first scans the world’s largest relational automotive database to document and confirm that each member's pre-owned vehicle has a clean title history. TitleGuard then insures the accuracy of each title history against unreported DMV brands, title defects and evidence of odometer rollback for up to $50,000.
TitleGuard will initially be offered to CUDL’s 17 million credit union members through CUDL’s AutoSMART Web site, and will be available to CUDL’s more than 550 credit unions, to incorporate into their used-vehicle loans. TitleGuard will also benefit CUDL’s 7,000 dealers, allowing them to apply the service to their pre-owned vehicle inventory. This allows everyone involved in the sale of a used vehicle – buyers, sellers and credit unions – to be insured against their actual losses for up to $50,000.
