LAKE SUCCESS, N.Y. -- DealerTrack Holdings, Inc., announced earlier this week that it has acquired almost all the assets of Chrome Systems Corporation, a Portland, Ore.-based provider of vehicle configuration data and related software to the automotive retail industry.
"Chrome Systems is well-known among the major participants in automotive eCommerce -- manufacturers, dealers and financing sources -- for providing comprehensive and accurate vehicle configuration data," said Mark O'Neil, DealerTrack's president and CEO. "The ability to retrieve reliable inventory data from a dealer's DMS with the click of a mouse will enhance the value of the Dealertrack product suite."
Since 1986 Chrome has collected, analyzed and enhanced raw data about every available make, model and vehicle option offered by manufacturers in the North American market.
David Mingle will continue as Chrome Systems' president.
