Digital Motorworks (DMi), a provider of information management solutions to the auto industry, has entered into a strategic alliance with Aon Corp., a professional services provider of insurance and human capital consulting solutions.

DMi and Aon have worked together in various capacities over the past several years. "Because of our similar visions and client focus, Aon has recently invested in a minority ownership stake in DMi, along with a board seat," said Ron Hardy, CEO of DMi. "By formalizing our alliance, we anticipate being able to offer all of our customers a broader and more integrated service.

"Aon recognizes the critical role our solutions play in the integration of e-business initiatives," Hardy said. "This alliance will enable DMi to be in a stronger position to serve the automotive industry, as well as enter other key markets in which Aon is a clear market leader."

"DMi's innovative information management solutions will give Aon the ability to develop more integrated services and solutions for our clients," said Robert A. Rosholt, Aon executive vice president and DMi board member. "The strength of DMi's technology is a critical element to the types of ongoing business solutions that Aon is able to offer our clients."

DMi-developed solutions collect business and customer information from multiple -- and often diverse -- systems to facilitate a company's inventory management, customer relationship and decision support initiatives.
